Jacquie has over a decade of experience with shoreline, land use, and environmental issues.  She works with property owners and developers of all scales on permitting, project planning, due diligence, and dispute resolution.  She is solution-oriented and helps clients with practical advice.   • Prevailed in multi-million-dollar litigation protecting a property owner’s vested rights under a development agreement, and constructively resolved the litigation and damages through a development agreement.

  • Advised a brewery on land use and shoreline code requirements to build a new brewery location that is now open.

  • Defended a large-scale development proposal against a land use appeal involving complex appeal issues, including environmental contamination.

  • Successfully defended a student housing development against appeal.

  • Resolved a dispute regarding wetlands and critical areas that prevented development on a property.

  • Successfully represented a developer in litigation through the Court of Appeals to resolve claims related to demolition permits brought by a neighboring property owner under the Land Use Petition Act.

  • Represented a major institution in obtaining the approvals needed for a new campus building. This entitlement process required litigation against the City of Seattle and local landmarks preservation groups.

  • Successfully represented a residential developer in litigation to invalidate a provision of Seattle’s Design Review ordinance.

  • Represented a national company in a four-week jury trial involving contractual, environmental and insurance issues.

  • Successfully represented a potentially liable party in navigating insurance and reaching the resolution of claims under MTCA for the costs of investigation and remediation of petroleum products released from a commercial tanker truck during a freeway accident.​
